See what goes into rebuilding a Steinway grand

"It was a great summer this year for me. I spent 5 weeks in Aspen CO tuning pianos for the Aspen Music Festival. Both Van Cliburn Competition winners did recitals there. Vladimir Feltsman, Yefim Bronfman, Orli and Gill Shahan, and many other marquee performers were there. The students were just incredible. They had two New York concert grands and two Hamburg concert grands to work on. What a treat! It is truly a special place and was a very memorable experience.

I also had a Steinway concert grand from Whitman College in the shop this summer getting rebuilt. It turned out to be a really beautiful instrument and now plays like new.

I have the privilege of working with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra again this year and I strongly encourage everyone to attend their events. The programming is so good and it's such a wonderful venue. They also have a venue called Soundbridge that introduces children to classical music in a very fun and creative way."
